I have visited over twenty Florida State Parks in the last eight months, and there are a few things that I know for sure:

  1. The parks truly are world-class. The Florida State Parks are the first park system in the nation to win four Gold Medals, and those medals are well-deserved!
  2. Visiting a state park is one of the most accessible, family-friendly ways to experience the beauty of wild Florida.
  3. Florida State Parks need and rely on their dedicated volunteers.

The positive impact of volunteers on Florida’s incredible state park system is just one reason why Live Wildly was thrilled to host #ExploreTheCorridorWeek with our partners at the Florida State Parks Foundation.

Thank y’all so much for hosting these wonderful events! It was an amazing experience to give back to these wonderful parks! @r.j.stravels

Last week, 40 state parks hosted volunteer events in every district in the state, welcoming over 300 volunteers into the parks to maintain trails, remove invasive plants, pick up litter, paint, and build boardwalks. In each park, volunteers left the place a little better than they’d found it so that we can all enjoy these special destinations.

Had a great time at Stephen Foster! Thanks for doing this. @pookiesmash

To all of our volunteers: thank you! Your efforts made a significant and positive impact for our state parks and the Florida Wildlife Corridor, ensuring that our parks remain beautiful, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone to experience.

We look forward to announcing more opportunities in the near future – keep an eye on our Events page for more details!
