Things to Do at Canaveral National Seashore

Watch a Rocket Launch: One of the most unique experiences at Canaveral National Seashore is watching a rocket launch from the comfort of Playalinda Beach. Accessible from Titusville, this beach provides an incredible view of Launchpad 39A, which is home SpaceX’s rockets. Note that Playalinda Beach is only open during park hours, so this spot is best for daylight launches.

Drive Biolab Road: For a wild adventure, drive along Biolab Road, a dirt path running parallel to Mosquito Lagoon. This scenic route offers incredible wildlife viewing opportunities — I even spotted two bobcats during my visit! The road is dirt but well-graded for passenger vehicles and bicycles.

Enjoy an Uncrowded Beach Day: Canaveral National Seashore boasts the longest expanse of undeveloped coastline on Florida’s Atlantic coast. With 24 miles of shore, it’s easy to find a quiet spot. Spend your day sunbathing, fishing, shell hunting, or swimming if you don’t mind the waves. For those who are into a different form of wild, Playalinda Beach #13 is clothing optional.
