1. Go for a Paddle

Tuck your phone safely away in your life jacket and grab a paddle. Florida has thousands of miles of navigable water, from serene routes through the mangroves to saltwater kayaking on the Gulf Coast. Haven’t paddled before? No sweat. Many state parks and popular paddling areas offer guided tours for first-timers.

2. Take a Nature Walk

We get it; sometimes, taking a “hike” feels too intense. Leave all the complications behind and go on a casual stroll through nature in a nearby city, county, or state park. Soak in a little bit of sun, enjoy the beauty of a blooming plant, or simply take deep breaths of the fresh air. Studies show that it can have a positive impact on your mental and physical health!

3. Join the World’s Largest Treasure Hunt

Ever heard of geocaching? There are millions of geocaches all around the world waiting to be uncovered. Chances are, there is a geocache hidden near you right now! To participate, download the free Geocaching app and head out to find your closest cache. We know, we know – it requires a phone. But we promise you’ll spend more time hunting than you will looking at your screen.

4. Cast a Line

Dig out the fishing rod hiding in your garage, pick up some bait, and spend a morning relaxing on the banks of your favorite river, lake, or stream. It doesn’t really matter if you catch anything, does it? There is something about the quiet of the water, the sound of a line zipping across the surface, and the freedom of nowhere to be…
